Book : "Inferno" by Dan Brown

If i wanted to summarize the book with one word (almost) I would have to chose disappointing !

It is interesting at first to notice the list of people who worked with Dan Brown on his project (as mentioned by him in the Preface/Thanks/Introduction section at the beginning of the book) ... Basically more than 10 people participated in researching and creating the material needed for the book... A very interesting phenomenon, in terms of the artistic quality of the book, and the expectations on the knowledge content...

After reading the list of contributors to the work , one expects a titanic work of knowledge and art ... something at least matching the depth of the DaVinci Code (the book not the movie) or Angels & Demons (again the book --- the movies in both cases managed to remove the most important content from the books) ... However the result is unimpressive !

The book lacked a strong philosophical and metaphorical theme that drives the work , and seemed to include a collection of lousily-glued-together cliches and events , in a manner that sometimes makes one think about the pretentious and shallow --- the art with no art -- There are however some interesting artistic/metaphorical/beautiful sections , but not enough . The story is somehow with a weak plot ... why would a swiss dogmatic scientist trying to cure the world's disease leave clues from dante's 'Divine Comedy' on how to dismantle his plan ... Some intellectual laziness and complacency on the part of the author ... maybe he earns it somehow , i didn't like the trick
